Use Addition/Subtraction Formulas for Product Code Value

The user is able to use Addition/Subtraction formulas when calculating values for the product code. This is done by including the formula in the PCode.xml file for the selected raceway part. The PCode.xml files are located in the following directory (using BRCM Metric Example project):

C:\ProgramData\Bentley\BRCM CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Workspaces\BRCM Metric Example\Standards\BRCM\std_dataset\raceway

Within the PCode.xml file the user can use the Addition/Subtraction formula on variable to generate a PCode value.

In the example below, the product code for the reducer will be derived using the difference between the left tray width and the right tray width:

Note: See the reducer has a Left Tray width of 300mm and a Right Tray Width of 100mm.

This reducer is from the OBO catalog and the product code file is as follows:

CAT_OBO_CABLE_TRAY_MKS_60_PCode_EN.xml

The product code is defined for the reducer as shown:

In this example the following formula will be applied to include the difference between the Left TradeWidth (300mm) and the Right TradeWidth (100mm) in the product code:

Important: Please note any calculation must be enclosed by brackets "{}".

Save the file and run a BOQ Detail report. A preview of the report will display the modified product code for the reducer:
